Oral fluid’s utility as a matrix for biomarker and drug detection and measurement is unquestioned and growing in popularity. The “mirror of the body”, as oral fluid (used interchangeably with saliva on this website) is often referred to as, has been an area of testing expertise for Western Slope Laboratory since 2002 and, indeed, was fuel for the founding of the laboratory.
Western Slope Laboratory participates in the ongoing pilot proficiency testing program administered by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Service Administration’s National Laboratory Certification Program (NLCP Pilot PT Program) for oral fluid testing and has published results of numerous oral fluid-centric method development efforts over the past seven years.
